Sometimes I read a post that just speaks to my heart so poignantly that I want to share it too.

This is that post for me today, A Song For Mommy.

It’s a post about a sweet girl who spent just two days shy of fourteen long years in an orphanage, and was finally adopted two days before she aged out of the China adoption program, two days before her chance for a family would end, forever.

It speaks to my heart for so many reasons.  One is because I have teenagers, and I know how much they still need their mothers.  Another is because I have little ones, and the thought of them growing up in an institution without a mother’s love and care is unfathomable to me.

And it especially speaks to me this morning because even as I type this, there is another sweet girl in Johanna’s same orphanage who is also aging out and who is waiting for her Mommy – a precious vulnerable child who has recently watched two of her friends go home to their families.  And still she waits.

But there is a family who has petitioned China to adopt her.  There is a family trusting God to supply the means to bring her home.

Hold on a little longer, sweet one.  By God’s grace, your Mommy is coming.

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.  2 Corinthians 4;18

Forever In His Love,
