I just got back from the wound care specialist’s office with Evangeline.
We had X-rays done on her foot last week and we just got the results today. There is significant degeneration of the bones in her right foot. The doctor is not sure what has caused the disintegration. It may be a neuropathic degeneration or it may be a chronic osteomyelitis of the bone, which is a deep bone infection. Either way she will need major work and several surgeries to rebuild her foot, if they can save her foot at all. Her wound is not healing, and the doctor is concerned that the bone issue may be preventing the wound from healing.
He had planned to cast her foot today to take the weight off the wound, but he decided against it because we are going to CHOP tomorrow and because of the possible chronic osteomyelitis.
Tomorrow we take both of the girls to Children’s Hospital. Eliza has appointments with the CHOP Adopt clinic and with Cardiology. There will be a Mandarin speaking interpreter at all of the appointments.
Because we have been so concerned about Evangeline’s foot and back, the Spina Bifida clinic and orthopedics will be fitting her in tomorrow as well. We are hoping to get some more answers and hopefully some options when we see the doctors tomorrow.
We covet your prayers for our dear girls!
Praying for beautiful Eliza and Evangeline and praying that God will guide and direct the doctors in terms of their treatment.

I can think of nothing worthier of prayer than you and these sweet lambs of God’s.
Thank you for letting me be a hitchhiker in this process of adopting and loving and praying for your girls and the whole family. I have not stopped praying Diane. Oh, btw, my mother in law knows your mom very well. Ask her about Betty Shepherd. LOL very small world.
Yes…I will pray. We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the Word of His testimony! Evangeline not only will keep her foot but it will be completely restored in Jesus mighty name! She is saved to the uttermost…all of her being!
Both of these girls are in the right place at the right time!
