Evangeline is out of surgery and back in her room. She is doing fine and sipping a little water and ginger ale.
The surgeon did have to amputate her toe and first metatarsal bone up to the main foot bone. The main foot bone was infected as well, and the dr. sanded that down significantly. He wants to save that If he can.
She will be here while for IV antibiotics and will he will probably have to go back into the foot to irrigate it a few more times.
The infection looked to be at least six months old.
We are so thankful she is here.
Diane.
I’ve been following your journey to China and back. Praise God that His timing got Evangeline home with you! Does CHOP have e-cards for their patients? If so, do we need a room number or will they get delivered no matter what? It would be so great for your sweetie to receive a lot of cheer mail! Know that you are all in my prayers! (((BIG HUGS))) from RI!
