Evangeline has been awake sporadically since around 6pm. She does still have some sensation in her right leg which is a good sign, but she has no function in it.
It just lies lifeless on the bed. It is just heartbreaking to see.
BUT it is still early. The next few days will present a clearer picture of what to expect.
I’m just exhausted tonight. I’ll update again in the morning.
We are hopeful.
Thank you for your prayers.
We are trusting the One who loves her most.
Blessings.
Diane
Thank you for updating Diane. I’ve been following your blog (we live in NJ and have 2 kiddos who joined our family through adoption) but haven’t posted until today. I logged on hoping to hear that Evangeline’s surgery had gone well and when I saw your other post, my heart just dropped. I just wanted to let you know that my prayers are with you, your daughter and your whole family. We have experience at CHOP and I know she is receiving the best care-I am hopeful that she’ll be able to regain the use of her leg.
Sending healing & calming thoughts,
Rebecca
Praying Diane!
That’s a good sign that she has feeling in her leg ! I remember Emily’s surgeon saying that in cases where there is very little enervation reserve it takes a few days for the legs to recover. Praying for you !

She will run and not grow weary… walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 Hope in the Lord, she will regain her strength! Thank you Jesus.
Praying for you.

“She will run and not grow weary… walk and not faint.” My favorite verse, and now I will think of her with it too. Still praying for her, and you too of course.
