Wherein I Grew to Know Love

I was reading a friend’s blog and praying for a very happy birthday for this sweet old friend, when I came across a link to Pink Saturday at the bottom of her post.  So, since I absolutely love all things pink, I thought I’d check it out.
Well, I fell in love.
I loved its pink romantic […] Read more…

Sunday Snapshot a Little Late

We had a busy day of suiting up and schlepping some of our kids back and forth to summer camp.
By dinner time, there was a little girl who had had enough of indoor play and being buckled in her car seat.

So we braved the dreadful humidity,

and the vampire like mosquitoes,

and drug her brothers away from […] Read more…

The Power of Our Words

Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt,… ~Colossions 4;6
I’ve been thinking a lot about our words lately.  We  focus so much today on the freedom of expression.  We encourage the expression of ugly feelings, sadness, disappointments, and frustration.  We encourage our children to express themselves with unfettered freedom. We excuse our […] Read more…

Here So Soon?

I suppose I always knew this day would come.

This day, when my baby boy became a man.

But somehow while I was loving him,

I was unaware of the passage of time,

and this day arrived before I was ready.  But there was something else that alluded me,

the feelings of pride this day would bring.
Blessings ALL!

(Sorry for the […] Read more…

My First Black and White Wednesday

I decided to try my hand at a few black and whites.

I must say,  I’m rather nervous.

But, I thought I would face my fears,

and give it a try.

Blessings!

But I have to say,  I have a homeschooling heart.   I absolutely love to have my children around me. I love to be in our home, reading, writing, and learning about God’s world […] Read more…

The Great Redeemer

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. ~ James 1;17
We live in a world laced with problems.  There is pain and suffering on every front.  Loved ones are dying from cancer.  Motor vehicle accidents claim the lives of […] Read more…

A Charge to Keep I Have

As many of you know,  Mark and I have spent the summer days praying for wisdom about how we are called to educate our children.  Our oldest,  Andrew, will be seventeen this fall.  I have home schooled the children for a total of three years since Andrew started school eleven years ago.  The remaining years […] Read more…

Our Band Of Brothers…

And sisters…

These are just a few pictures of our children and their cousins at the pool.

Italian water ice at Mom Mom and Pop Pop’s pool…

And baby Olivia smiling for the camera…

Splashing in the pool with Victoria…

And everyone else…

Jonathan decided to swim around the pool on his own in the tube for the first time in […] Read more…

A New Theme

As you can see, I have been working on a new theme.  I really liked the other one with all of it’s feminine touches and petite floral vines swirling about, but it was an old theme and was missing so many of the newer features that are standard now.
The pictures didn’t align properly, and the […] Read more…
