CHOP With Eliza Too!

We are at CHOP again, but I wanted to do a quick post and tell you that Eliza chose to come with us today!
She has been such a homebody since we came home and has really not wanted to go anywhere. When we have insisted, we have wished we hadn’t. She has been […] Read more…

I’m a Mary

I’m a Mary, not a Martha.
Although I benefit from some structure in my life, I struggle mightily with creating it.
I will sit patiently with you if you are sad, or just want to talk.
I have no problem rocking babies, or children while the laundry piles up.
I don’t mind at all if we get lost in […] Read more…

One Wild Ride

I am beginning to think we are on one wild roller coaster ride.
We did end up taking Evangeline in to Children’s today for her foot. She has only been walking on her foot since Wednesday and already she is developing an open wound which is draining. She’s back on the antibiotics and can’t walk […] Read more…

A Very Special Miracle

We have been home from China with our girls for seven and a half weeks, and they were ours two weeks before that. In some ways, it’s hard to believe that much time has passed, and yet in others it feels like an awful lot has happened since we met our precious blessings.
Tonight […] Read more…

Feed My Sheep

Thank you all for your encouraging comments. I’m so incredibly thankful for every single one of you who have followed God’s work in our lives. I feel your prayers for our family, and I’m so glad to be traveling this journey with you. I love your comments. I feel so close to all of you. […] Read more…

Doing Hard Things

I’m sitting in our lovely front room that Mark cleaned up for me before he left. It’s quiet because he has taken half the children to Ballet, and the others are playing quietly. Mark didn’t go to work today because when it was time for him to go, I couldn’t hold back the tears. I […] Read more…

A Long Day

Today we went to Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Davidson removed Evangeline’s stitches, and I shared my concerns about the surgery with him. I really don’t think he realized how well she can walk. He has so many patients with Spina Bifida that he sees, and Evangeline is really not a typical Spina Bifida patient.
We did […] Read more…

Long Day Tomorrow

Tomorrow we go back to CHOP again in the morning for the orthopedic doctor to remove the stitches in Evangeline’s foot. We have decided that we will get a second opinion before scheduling surgery, and either way, I think we have decided to postpone indefinitely surgery on her good foot. She does too well […] Read more…

CHOP Tomorrow

Tomorrow we go to see the orthopedic doctors for Evangeline’s foot. The doctor is going to take out her stitches. He did not use the dissolvable kind because he was afraid of infection.
Evangeline decided tonight she would take the other boot with her tomorrow just in case she can fit it on her […] Read more…

More Wind

The winds are really blowing hard again here as the back half of the storm moves across South Jersey. We are still doing well though and have not lost power.
Praise God!
The girls weathered the storm well too.
And we have yet another memory we share with them.
They did not seem scared at […] Read more…
