Evangeline is really not feeling well today.
She has a back ache and is camped out on the couch asleep.
She started last night with a rather severe pain in her back. She was up in the night with pain and still isn’t feeling better today. She needs to drink a lot of fluids for her kidneys, but is having a hard time getting enough fluid in.
She is feeling discouraged. Physically she’s had a tough time since coming to the States, and the road is long ahead of her.
We had planned to take the kids to the park this afternoon, and if she is able to ride in the wheel chair, we my still take her so she can get some fresh air and a change of scenery.
She has a doctor’s appointment tomorrow and then CHOP again on Wednesday.

Hi Diane ~ I left a comment on FB about this. The fact that she’s having back pain is very concerning. That indicates a kidney infection. UTI’s are painful, but not as serious. When urine backs up into the kidneys, it causes the back pain. If she is running a fever, I wouldn’t wait until her appt. tomorrow. I’d get her to an Urgent Care or the E.R.. If she doesn’t have a fever, you can give her the AZO. That’s what I shared about on FB. You can buy it at the drug store/pharmacy. It really helps the burning and bladder spasms and she will feel better. Also, if you have some ibuprofen/Advil/Motrin, I’d give her that. And, gatorade is a good alternative to plain water. Will she eat some chicken soup/noodles? Popsicles? Jello? Anything to get some fluids in her. I really hope you don’t feel like I’m too bossy! Just the Nurse in me coming out. 😉 Watch her closely for the fever. A kidney infection can take a turn quickly and she could develop sepsis, which is life threatening.
