We have Eliza!

She is precious, and so excited to be with us. She has longed for this day for so long!

All of her closest friends have already been adopted. She seems healthy and well taken care of.

She is awkward and nervous, seems quite hyper, but is so sure she wants this. The orphanage director said she was ready the very day they told her she had a family.

She, too, doesn’t seem fourteen, although she has been fed well and, I believe has had many more experiences than Evangeline.

We went right from the civil affairs office to the Hospital for Evangeline. I wish we hadn’t gone. It was overwhelming and dirty and exhausting, and we know nothing.

We have a busy morning of paperwork. I am so tired and overwhelmed by the needs, and all that I must teach these two who have lived their lives among the enemy’s camp.

Today I feel the weight and the cost of service.

Your prayers mean so much to us as we press forward to rescue these two dear children!

I will write more and post pictures as soon as I can!

Blessings!

Diane

  1. Congratulations!

I think there is a western clinic (the Can-Am clinic) on the first floor of the Garden hotel. Maybe you would have better luck there?

  2. Diane, Be strong…You will be home soon and you will all be together and back to the craziness that most of us Moms posting could not handle LOL. You are tired, overcome with alot of emotion…Hug that awesome husband and take a breath. Maybe a quite talk with the Man upstairs!! I will talk to him too for you….Much love is being sent to you all at this second.

  3. Oh, Diane! I think you’re so brave! I can’t wait to read your updates every day! You’re all in my prayers. Hang in there! It will be alright! Nothing this worthwhile is easy, but God has your back and He’ll get you through anything! Take care! Try to enjoy China.

  4. Congratulations Diane! I am so happy for you!!! Continuing to pray for the health, safety and bonding of your new family!!! Soak in all the culture of China- I know you are sooo ready to take your daughters home and be with your other children. I am looking forward to seeing pictures of the girls together.

  5. Oh how I have laughed and cried reading your wonderful updates. My heart breaks for sweet Evangeline and then rejoices knowing that both of these precious girls will now have a family and will now know the Lord! I will be praying!!!

  6. Hang in there Diane ! It gets easier. Especially once they start to pick up the language. Medications don’t require a prescription in China. If you can get in cOntact with a doc and send a pic of her foot, he/she can tell you what to pick up at the pharmacy. Meds are also very inexpensive in China.

  7. One step at a time, dear friend. this will be a long journey but you are only at the beginning and God will only give you grace and insight for today. You will not teach them everything in one day or one week. it will be a lifetime of loving and being their Mom. Rejoice in the opportunity He has given you and get a good nights sleep if you can.
