Apparently Japan is claiming they have purchased an island from a private citizen that China has historic claim to, and the people are very unhappy. When we left the Hotel this morning we had to wait for the police and swat team to secure the crowds.
We had a good day doing a bit of shopping and looking around with the girls.
Eliza is really struggling though. She broke down when we were shopping. The guide tried to talk to her, but she would not tell her anything she was feeling. She is just so sad. She seems better now that we are in the hotel.
When we left the market, our guide told us that protestors had stormed the Garden Hotel, and destroyed parts of the lobby.
We had to meet at another Hotel and be escorted back to the Hotel by the police because there was a lull in the crowds and another mob was on its way.
We are here in our rooms. The Hotel is secured by the military and the second mob is arriving. We have been told not to leave our rooms.

We live in the city where you are, and read this update because a friend from your city got in touch with me here. Things seem ok here at the moment, but if you would like a believing family to connect with who can help you with language, etc, please contact me on this email thesheddz@swissmail.org. We have four little girls, our older three speak English and Chinese, if thats any help to you and your beautiful girls! We have been praying for you since reading this blog a few hours ago.
We will most certainly be praying for you and all of the other adoptive families there. What a scary situation. That looks like a very different place with all of those mobs of people, from the peaceful setting when we were there.
I see why many might be upset, but I don’t understand why mobs of people are storming the lobby at the Garden and causing destruction there?! I guess mobs just take out there anger where ever they see fit.
Praying God’s mighty hedge of protection around all of you and the hotel. That He has made His angels charge over you all! Please do keep us posted.
