Computer In Chinese

Egads!
I’m long since ready to turn in for the night, and I wanted to download a few pictures from my camera onto our laptop only to find that Eliza was on it and reset the entire computer as if she is the administrator, the pages and toolbar are in Chinese, and everything says it is […] Read more…

More Blooms In Our Garden

We are home!
I wanted to write a post yesterday, but it was such a whirlwind day of quick changes, and so many things to remember, that I was just too drained to post.
We saw the surgeon who performed Evangeline’s surgery yesterday morning. He was so pleased with the way the surgery site was […] Read more…

Flowers In The Valley

I’m up early this morning here in the hospital, and I’m thinking of the blessings God has given me this week.
I am overwhelmed with how God has blessed us with Evangeline. She is an amazing child. Her stamina, her spunk, and the pure joy she radiates is just so remarkable to me.
I was […] Read more…

Some Hard Things

Evangeline is sleeping late this morning. It is quiet, and I want to share a few things with all of you today that I wasn’t sure I could or should share before.
I think there is a trend in the blog world to write about the fairy tale of adoption. And it is a fairy […] Read more…

Not By Might

Today has been a much better day.
Evangeline has really been good today. She’s perky. Her fevers are gone. She’s eating, and smiling a lot more. Her foot is healing really well, so well that the surgeons cancelled her surgery today.
Praise God!
I did fall today on the wet floor in Evangeline’s room […] Read more…

Honesty

It’s been another long day.
Evangeline’s foot is still infected, and she will be having surgery again tomorrow to further debride the bone and wash out the infection. She has been sicker today from the antibiotics.
Evangeline has not been told that they had to take off half of her foot. I am very concerned […] Read more…

Out of Surgery

Evangeline is out of surgery and back in her room. She is doing fine and sipping a little water and ginger ale.
The surgeon did have to amputate her toe and first metatarsal bone up to the main foot bone. The main foot bone was infected as well, and the dr. sanded that down significantly. […] Read more…

In Surgery Now

Evangeline is in surgery now.
I was able to talk with the surgeon before she went back regarding the integrity of Evangeline’s foot and the results of last night’s MRI. The first metatarsal bone and toe are 75-85% gone. There is a 90% chance that he will have to amputate the toe and […] Read more…

Surgery Day

Evangeline is all ready for surgery and playing a Play Station. We are waiting to hear from the surgeon that he is ready for her. It could be any time today, but we are expecting it will be late morning.
We really appreciate all of your prayers and suggestions. Your faithful support has been such […] Read more…

Admitted

I’m at Children’s Hospital with Evangeline.
The Orthopedic doctor decided to admit her immediately and do surgery tomorrow to try to get rid of all the infected bone. He said it is like cancer. It eats away at the bone and he has to be certain he gets all of the infection because it spreads. […] Read more…
