Our Evangeline

In an earlier post, I wrote about Eliza’s name. You can read that post here.
I never really officially shared about Evangeline’s name since from the time we got PA until now, our lives have been like a whirl wind. Everything moved so quickly that our heads were spinning. We just sort of threw her name […] Read more…

Here it is!

Some of you have asked me to post my little soliloquy that I spoke in church. We needed to stick to ten minutes, so we had to be brief.
So, here it is. Thank you for your prayers!!!
“As many of you know, we are adopting two young girls from China. We’d like to share briefly […] Read more…

Happy Birthday Sophia

Today our sweet Sophia Grace turned eight.

It seems like only yesterday that she was born.
Sophia is our sixth child and our second daughter. Our daughter Victoria was seven years old when Sophia was born, and we had prayed for a sister for VIctoria since she was a very little girl. We tease […] Read more…

We are now on day five without electricity. Crews are constantly working to restore power to our community. Please pray for them. They are working under the HOT sun and around the clock. Many people have had their electricity restored, and many are still waiting.

Today our youngest son turned five.

Three of our older kids were still at camp, and Mark was on his way to pick them up, so we had a quick dinner and cake at Mom mom and Pop pop’s house.

Homemade Play Dough Recipe

I love to make play dough with the kids.

It’s fun and easy,

Not sure why, but sometimes they even shed their clothes in the process.

Clothes, or no clothes, it’s great fun, and keeps the children busy for a long time…

Making pizzas,

And snow men. 🙂

Here’s the recipe…
1 cup flour

Sadness

I am sad today.
I don’t even know if I will publish this, but I am a writer. When I am riddled with emotions and feelings and need clarity, I write.
I write from confusion, from longing, from a deep ache inside clamoring for expression.
And today, the hurts just seem too heavy, and perhaps, […] Read more…

Seventeen years ago you became a father.
We were so young and had so much to learn. I’ll never forget the look in your eyes when the nurse placed our first child, a son, in your arms.
You were overwhelmed with emotion. Tears filled those beautiful blue eyes I had grown to love so […] Read more…

Questions

We have gone back to homeschooling this year after a couple years in a Christian school. I would say it’s going well except for my teens.
I can’t even say its going poorly for my teens. In so many ways, I think homeschooling has been good for them. They have learned a lot. A child […] Read more…
