Quiet

His blessings are new every morning,
There is a quiet hush here in Evangeline’s room this morning. There are no doctors and nurses hovering around her bed.
She is sleeping peacefully.
Around two o’clock, Evangeline’s fever finally came down, and we both slept.
God heard our prayers and gave us exactly what we […] Read more…

Sepsis

Thank you all for your prayers.
I am overwhelmed and humbled by your support of our family and for Evangeline.
Thank you so very very much for every comment you have left and for every prayer you have prayed on our behalf.
Evangeline has had a very rough coupe of days. She has a severe […] Read more…

Blessings

Yesterday was Colin’s birthday.

Our sweet boy is turning into a very handsome young man with quite a talent for ballet.
How the years have past!
Steven and Colin were born exactly two years apart on the ninth and the eleventh.

Steven loves to read and is quite the story teller. I love to hear […] Read more…

Bringing Connor and Cooper Home

As I look back into the early days of trying to adopt Evangeline, there are a few people who stand out in my mind as really having encouraged me to step out in faith and to trust God to bring Evangeline home even though the circumstances really made it look impossible.
If you were following […] Read more…

Home!

We came home from the hospital last night.
Evangeline is having quite a bit of pain in her left foot, but she is doing well. Mark carries her from bed to couch to wheelchair.

First Update

The nurse just came out and said Evangeline is doing fine. They are still working on her right foot, and then will move on to the left when they’re finished with the right.
Here are a few pictures of Evangeline before the nurses took her back.

She was fine all afternoon and did not seem […] Read more…

Evangeline’s Surgery

I took Evangeline to CHOP today for her checkup for her broken leg. It appears to be healing, but the doctor will decide tomorrow during her surgery if he will continue to require it to be immobilized.
Tomorrow Evangeline will have surgery to lengthen the muscles and tendons in her feet. We have looked into […] Read more…

Christmas Flowers

My special friend, Stephanie, brought these flowers to me when she brought the umpteenth meal she has prepared for our mega family since we have come home with the girls.
They are so beautiful.
Every time I look at them I think of all the blessings, the flowers, God is filling our home with this […] Read more…

Thriving In the Trenches

Today has been another demanding day with the girls.
If I say we’re going to have lunch, they say they’re not hungry. If I say we need to wash our hands, they say, “No.”
If I ask them to do their English on the computer, as soon as I walk out of the room, they […] Read more…
