We were able to bring Evangeline home on a one day pass from the rehab.

It was wonderful to have her home even if it only was for a little while.

She spent a lot of time in her room with Sophia, and I could see today how deeply Sophia misses her.

Sophia hasn’t slept in their room since Evangeline went to the hospital. She sleeps in with Eliza and Victoria now.

It was so hard to take her back and leave her again.

But I know God has a plan.

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. ~Isaiah 43:19

Blessings!

  1. I feel so blessed to know that as an inheritance I am grafted into the body of Christ and shall live eternally in the very presence of our Lord, and some of my family are on a branch near to me.

  2. Oh her sweet smile in the photos is just so precious! I’m glad you guys got a little time all reunited under one (non-hospital/rehab) roof! I pray God speeds up her recovery even faster than the experts anticipate and that she might be home with you sooner than the date they’re expecting. In the meantime, I continue to pray for wisdom for you guys and grace and strength and peace.

  3. That must have been such a special day, Evangeline belongs with you and your family! She must have felt how much she was missed, that will do her good! Sure it was hard to bring her back, but this was really something to look out for and maybe it can be repeated… Hoping for good recovery, as speedy as possible.
    Warm regards,
    Claudia

  4. Diane, I apologize for sending a note in the comment section. I couldn’t find a way to email you privately. I came across your blog recently and wanted to tell you about an event that is happening next week in Washington, DC called Supermoms Against Superbugs. http://www.pewhealth.org/other-resource/meet-the-2013-supermoms-and-superdads-85899465472

STOP Foodborne Illness has been doing some work in coalition with others to reduce the overuse of antibiotics in food animal production. Even though we are a food safety organization, this issue of antibiotic resistance encompasses a much wider spectrum. From what I’ve read, I think your experience and story are powerful. God is good. I’m grateful He understands even when we’re not sure we do.
