When Our Feelings Waiver

A sweet friend tagged me in a post this morning.
There is a precious family in China adopting two teenage daughters even as I write this who is struggling. She asked if I could share any words of encouragement for this dear family.
I remember those days in China so vividly. […] Read more…

Amazed

I’m just amazed at how much progress Eliza has made since we brought her home in September.

She has solidly claimed her spot amongst the children,

And grandchildren.

She has become my house helper. She loves to organize and keep the house neat. Here she is organizing my container cupboard.

She is by my side all day long ready […] Read more…

Feeling Normal Again

Evangeline came home from the hospital a week and a half ago, and I finally am beginning to feel like myself again.

She made the adjustment amazingly well.

We are all so thankful to have her home again.

Sophia is especially happy to have her sister back.

Their pretty pink room is alive […] Read more…

A Pearl Of Great Price

Eliza and Evangeline have been home with us for just over seven months.
They are both fourteen and a half years old. For their first fourteen years they lived as orphans devoid of the love and security a family provides.
They battled chronic illness and cognitive disability alone until the day we arrived to take them home […] Read more…

She’s Home!

Blessings!

Then we begin a new phase in our lives of transitions and recovery.
I don’t yet know all of the details, but I do know she will begin physical therapy on […] Read more…

Breathing Again

I guess I really don’t need one after all.
On Monday, my sweet friend Stephanie showed up with bagels and cream cheese and dinner for my enormous family, just like she has consistently done so many times before.
But she didn’t only bring food for all of us, […] Read more…

His Light Shining Through

Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard. Isaiah 58:8

Evangeline is getting better!

Her leg is getting stronger everyday. She is now walking during therapy without the knee immobilizer which […] Read more…

Home For A Day

We were able to bring Evangeline home on a one day pass from the rehab.

It was wonderful to have her home even if it only was for a little while.

She spent a lot of time in her room with Sophia, and I could see today how deeply Sophia misses her.
Sophia hasn’t slept […] Read more…

No, For Now

This week, the thought of having Evangeline in the rehab for several weeks just seemed too hard to bear, and I asked the case worker at the rehab to explore our options for bringing her home and for outpatient therapy.
I was just so worried about her spending so much time away from us and […] Read more…
